When Michelle contacted me to photograph her family, she described Shah as a “little ball of happiness” - I couldn’t think of a better description for him!

I was glad to take advantage of the snow for this awesome family’s session.

Jane snuck her son’s dog Toby out of his house to have him photographed.. Such a terrific Christmas surprise! Toby and Jane’s dog, Abby, are good buddies :)

We had a ton of whipping cream left over after the holidays, so I googled for a recipe to use it in and this is what I found. Who knew that cream puffs were so easy to make!?
Ingredients
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 eggs
Directions
Mix together vanilla instant pudding mix, cream and milk. Cover and refrigerate to set (takes 15-30min).
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
In a large pot, bring water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in vanilla. Stir in flour, sugar and salt until the mixture forms a ball. Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl and let cool. Using a mixer, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each (beat in as much air as possible when mixing the eggs until the dough is a sticky, elasticky, “chewy” consistency). Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Centers should be dry. It’s ESSENTIAL to poke a hole the last couple of mins of baking the puffs so they don’t collapse.
When the shells are cool, either split and fill them with the pudding mixture, or use a pastry bag to pipe the pudding into the shells.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holidays. I’m pretty excited about 2012, I have a feeling it’s going to be a fantastic year!
Throughout the month of December, for every baby/children/family session that is booked, whether as a session for your own family or as a gift certificate for someone else, the $300 session fee will be donated to Ronald McDonald House BC (this also means you don’t have to pay tax for the session fee!). Once a session has been purchased you have one year from the date of purchase to use your session, so even if you weren’t planning to do a session until later next year, now is an awesome time to purchase the session.
The $300 session fee covers the 1-2 hour photography session and any prints/products/digital files/etc are purchased separately after the session. Please contact myself if you would like more details (info@alanacouch.com or 604-727-2367)
Hopefully we can raise a ton of money this month for Ronald McDonald House!!!
(this post will stay at the top of the blog throughout the month)

I can’t believe how much Madison has grown since I last photographed her! Now she’s walking, talking and has the longest eyelashes I have ever seen! And pretty soon she is going to be a big sister.

- Alana - these are so lovely! I can't wait to see the rest and I'm so glad we decided to go ahead and do the shots with you again. You were a great guide and instructor to capture many different kinds of shots. Thanks so much, it was a fun session!
Besides every photo on the blog/website of the guys getting ready in the morning, there are also oodles of other images photographed by Jin. Since he doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves I thought I’d do a post just for him :) Today is also his birthday so I thought it would be a good day for this!
This is just a very tiny sampling, but you get the idea..

I love this image of the mother with her two daughters!
